“I’d never been up at the front like that before; I had everything under control, and maybe that’s why I made a mistake. It’s all part of the process. Pole position? I thought I could do it, but Lecuona and Bulega are better prepared than I am.”
Nicolo Bulega says he will not change his “approach” to the Italian WorldSBK weekend despite his title chance and a recent test crash.
“Sometimes you have to be smart and avoid doing stupid things. I didn’t think Iker had that much leeway. We’ll see tomorrow, though.”
"For me, it's even tougher now than it was in 2018, because I've won three titles—I'm used to winning. Back then, finishing 12th was bad, but not as bad as it is now. The Michelins? I just can't get the softs to work."

INTERVIEW - “The engine will be completely different, and we’ll face more challenges, but we’re working on it. If Superbike turns the tables, we have to ask ourselves if it’s still the right championship for Ducati.”
“It’s too early to judge. We’ll see how things stand once we have some solid data. Ducati was expected to struggle at Misano but dominated. At Spielberg, it was expected to win easily but struggled. There’s no logic to it. We’re taking it one day at a time.”
“There’s no rule that prevents a Superbike rider from testing a MotoGP bike. DAZN? If I want to say something that won’t be heard, I won’t say it in front of a camera.”
“Michelin tyres perform differently than Pirellis, so the bike handles differently and needs to be ridden differently. I’ve tried every chance I’ve had to beat Bulega, and I’ll do the same here at Cremona.”
“Nicolò deserves that car; if they don’t give it to him, who should they give it to? Ducati has done an incredible job this year. The 2027 Bimota is a little different.”
“The MotoAmerica BMW is nothing like the Ducati from four years ago. BMW asked me to race and be a test rider. I’ll make a decision this weekend.”
INTERVIEW – “I chased the title with MV Agusta for ten years. Returning to Superbike with Arenas? It’s something to consider: I know Albert wants to race in SBK, but his future isn’t in my hands.”
